Life

Sometimes I am hit with a tidal wave of love for my family that is so overwhelming I forget to breathe. I look at my husband, my handsome, sexy husband and my knees still shake, 14 years later. I look at my children and I am simply humbled by their sweet innocence and seemingly endless curiousity. Mason looks at me with those big brown eyes, so trusting, so loving and my heart breaks into a thousand pieces. I ask Morgan for a kiss and he comes at me with his mouth open wide and a happy grin on his face.

I've begun to try to write down Masonisms. As we all know, kids say the damndest things, and Mason is no exception.

"Catch up with that truck up there, Mama, " Mason says to me as we are getting on the freeway.
"I don't think I can, Sweetie, it's too far ahead of us."
"Well, that's okay, Mama, you can just use your power."

I tell this story to Wolf as we pick him up from the ferry that night. Mason proceeds to tell us that my power is blue, Morgan's is orange, his own is green and Wolf's is black. Good colors.

"I love you, Mama,"Mason says to me every time he pees. Every time. Without fail.

"But, I just need some Mommy time" as I'm trying to get him to go to sleep.
"But, I just need some Mommy and Daddy time" when he gets up out of bed 5 minutes after he's gone down.
"I need some penis time"he would say when we were changing his diaper and now, as he runs around naked.

God, I love my boys....all three of them.
